would like to make reservations.
Hi,
I would like to make reservations to be able to make my I AM AT GOAL post on 10/19/05 here. Is that acceptable? Long story and no place to put it here, but to condense.....after 2.5 years of setting/resetting/setting/resetting goal I am now staking claim to October 19 to be goal. I am kicking everything up a notch and whatever the metal monster states when I step on it that day will be goal for me. I know, makes no sense as I ALWAYS discourage people from making a goal based on a date. But, my reasons are sound . Dr., family, friends tell me to call it goal right now..... I will finish this journey the day I turn 50 and will be content with myself. Yet, another long story

What an awesome idea
...I set my birthday this year as goal whatever I weighed that day I would call it goal and stop "trying" to loose wt! Look what happened I ended up loosing another 9lb unintentionally!!! ...I like deadlines!!!! and will be cheering so loudly when you make it there you can hear me all the way across the country!!!! (banana is for good measure )

I don't know, but that banana does not look like its merely dancing for fun. Wow if that is the way it works TODAY IS MY GOAL (just kidding). Can I just keep saying that and then drop 9. LOL I wonder too if claiming your goal helps take some of the focus off of what to eat/food. I was complaining the other day to DH that its ironic to get away from stuffing my face I have to make food a nonstop thought. Kind of counteractive in a way.

Brats..... I have been doing this for over 2.5 years. Mr. B. sat me down for a good long talk awhile back and said ENOUGH.
The best way to explain is as I'd reach a goal and then I find a new goal, then another and then another! Kinda like Cleo and shiney things . We decided that I have to say I DID IT! Not that I will ever change how I eat or work out, but I have to be content with myself. Being obese all my life it is really hard to accept the fact that I am no longer obese. If you ask me what I looked like I would tell you I wear a size 22. But, I do not, I wear a size 10. I can now honestly understand eating disorders. I always discourage people from making a date a goal..... and here I am doing it. By doing it this way it hopefully will stop my OBSESSION!!! And, if you think the banana looks bad, check out this guy . They say he is exercise? Reminds me of Jim Carey in one of his movies when he said YES YES and did the exercise guy! Anybody remember that one?

Bren, I am 51, have lost 110 pounds and came down from a 26 to a size ten too. I am not at goal though because at 170 pounds and 5'6" tall I am still overweight on all the charts. Since I made this a lifestyle change though I am not in a race to reach goal anymore. It will happen. I also don't freak out with long stalls. Fact is I have continued to lose slowly,
and not gained. That in itself is the victory. Congratulations on setting and reaching your goal. karen |
