I think I must be a success story!

Hey everyone,
Last night I went to a wildlife fundraiser dinner. It was one of the first real social events that I've been to since starting low carb. Anyway, a good friend of mine has a daughter that's in high school, and I haven't seen her since last summer sometime. Their family sometimes goes out on the boat with me in the summer. Anyway, this girl is in FFA (Future Farmers of America", an organization that's not really what the title says... Anyway, the local High School FFA chapter was doing the serving of the meal at the banquet. So, I saw Paige (daughter) and said hello. She looked at me and her jaws just dropped open really wide... and I swear this is what she said: "My God, you're skinny!!!" Again, trust me, I'm not skinny... but it sure felt good to have someone say that to me!!! I don't think anyone has ever, ever said that to me before.

I love low carb!!!

Re: I think I must be a success story!

Yeah Sarah, it was cool to say the least!

Laura, yes it was funny. LOL!

And Mary, yeah it's good as far as a motivator goes, but I hope I don't need any more motivation than the success that I've been having, and the desire to get healthy. My major motivation has been that picture that I saw at Christmas of me being 250 lbs, and knowing that I'm not getting any younger, and it won't get any easier than it will be today. 37 lbs down is my best motivation to lose the other 30 or so lbs that I want to lose.

Thanks!
Rick

Thanks Sandi, and yes, it felt great.... I'm still getting energy from it. Those kinds of compliments don't happen every day, and it's what we live for.

Re: I think I must be a success story!

Just wanted to say, that today I fit in 36 inch waist shorts (started in tight 40's) and a large t-shirt (started in XXL)!!!! I'm not saying that they're not snug, but they are no less snug than the ones that I started in that were a lot bigger!!! Definitely a success story by now!!!

Re: I think I must be a success story!

You are doing so well Rick. Those compliments sure are nice, aren't they. I met a lady I used to work with in COles supermarket the other day and she walked right past, she didn't recognise me. What a buzz!

Re: I think I must be a success story!

Just an update... now down to 200 even. Down 50 lbs this year and am rethinking my goal weight! I'm doing pretty darn good where I'm at, and am thinking that 190 may be my new goal instead of 180. I think my body will determine my eventual goal. I'm really happy with where I am right now though. I have had so many people say that I don't need to lose anymore, but they don't see me in the shower!!!

Hey, I've missed this..... LOL!!!!
