A summer challenge?

Hi all. Anyone want to join me in a little summer challenge?

Its May 1st tomorrow. How about we go from now until August 1st to reach our next mini goal.

This goal could be anything. It could be a loss of lbs, it could be a loss of inches or it could even be a loss of body fat percentage.

So who is up for it?

I will aim to be get my body fat percentage down by a further 2% points. Its currently standing at 22.8 %. (Which apparently does fall in the average bracket for the uk).

So thats my challenge, who's next. Remember August 1st is still 3 months away. Step up and take the challenge.

Now I want to insert my new favourite smiley, just for the sake of it

Rich

I know I will loose more ....

But I will set a goal of 15 lbs. lost.

I'm going to see a friend in August and I wanted to be sure to loose a bit more by then. So this is purrrrr fect. Thanks for the challenge.

AND I want to see my garden as I have it on paper. Lots of changes/moving of plants. Which will give me excersize.

Re: A summer challenge?

Hi Rich and Sandi and TR!

I would like to be cheat free for the summer. Well, I'd like to be cheat free forever, but I figure small steps to begin with. So, my challenge to me would be to stay on plan and be cheat free for the entire summer.

Re: A summer challenge?

I would like to run the Tely 10, but first I have to deal with the heel spurs, which cause me a fair amount of pain and grief. That is July 23rd.

If that goal is not attainable, then just consistent exercising will have to be my mission.

Is the Tely 10 - 10 miles or 10 kilometres?

Either way, good luck.

Re: A summer challenge?

So, Rich, what do we do now? Do we check into this thread with progress reports? Or was this just to anounce what we'd like to do for the summer? Just wondering.

We allow everyone to pipe up with their individual challenge and post as and when (in this thread) they want to with updates.

I want a nice supportive thread going here, where we all get encouragement from everyone elses successes.

Re: A summer challenge?

Rich, the Tely 10 is ten miles, even though most other races are measured in km. This one started that many years ago, that it is historically measured in miles.

So, it is approx 16 km, a distance I've never run before. However, many people either walk it, or do a combination of walking and running, so I shouldn't feel too badly if I cannot run the entire distance. Finishing would be nice, for both my hubby and myself.

Re: A summer challenge?

I am in!! Wow I am so excited, this thread will help keep me accountable!!!! What is my goal? 20lbs!!! Really more but don't want to set a goal I may not be able to obtain and then feel the pain of disapointment. I'll fix my goal later if I reach and exceed.
Good Luck Everyone!!!

Man, you and me both, sandi! LOL

Hmm, let's see, summer goal: I would like not to fit into ANY of my clothes by August 1, so that I will be forced (it's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it!) to buy a new wardrobe over July 28-31, after summer school finals and right before I move across the country!

I better write this down... and start saving!

Thumbs up Re: A summer challenge?

I'm coming into this late. . but. . here I am!

I want to lose 20 more pounds AND start exercising. (So close to a century mark. . . exciting. . I have now lost just over 30% of what I need to lose) Well, that last one is a lie. . who WANTS to exercise? But, I will start excercising three times a week. I have to be in shape enough to do the cross city walk in September/October. (2 miles) Last time, I came in just before the electric wheel chair racers. . .almost asked for a ride in.

Check to see how everyone is doing later! Be well!

Re: A summer challenge?

Well, I missed this one first time around, somehow. Of course, it is winter for me, but I'll make my goal simply to get under 100kgs.
I've went back as high s 105.3 again after the accident (no car=no gym) but have it down to 104.4.
Under 100 would be heaven!
