I would like to cook some meatballs for dinner . My question is I make my meatballs out of just eggs and hambuger But I would like to add some tomoto sauce to them they have 10 carbs and 7 sugars per 8oz. So would that be off limits to me

Depends. Which plan are you on and how much did you plan on eating?

You are absolutely right. NO sugar. I, myself, struggle with that too.
I did find you a recipe. I have NOT tried it. I hope it is good.

If you're doing Atkins, you can have tomatoes, so I would stick to either a homemade sauce or a low-carb one without added sugars or corn syrups and then keep the sauce to a minimum for flavoring reasons only. The sauce could trigger some cravings, so beware of this.
How much of a serving were you thinking of having?
Another question to know... is the sugar naturaly from the tomato, or is it added sugar? I always thought it was the added sugars that we had to watch for. I know that I've read before that it's not the sugars on the list of nutrients, but the list of ingredients that we need to watch for. I still try to just stay away from it all for the most part.

You're right, Rick. Some foods have naturally occuring sugars, so you have to look at the ingredients list as well as the nutrition label thingie.
A tablespoon is a fair amount of sauce for each meatball, but I would say that, even with added sugar, unless you're really sensitive, one tablespoon split between them all would be fine. Yes, it's absolutely better to make your own without any extras, but if I cut out all foods that had been commercially prepared, I would have starved to death (or killed myself with food poisoning).
You do need to count the tomatoes the sauce came from in your veggie total, though.
I like to think of Atkins choices as a sliding scale:
Best - homegrown with no pesticides and prepared fresh
Better - prepared fresh from unprocessed ingredients
Less Better - prepared from processed ingredients
Marginal - processed foods
Chancy - eating out without a clue to ingredients
Those who insist you make everything from scratch have never been to the hospital with food poisoning. I have, so I'm a little more forgiving
