New Year's Challenge, March 27 - April 2

Whoops, forgot to start this this morning.

I'm checking in at 132 (still). I can wear my jeans again, though, so some of my previous urgency is gone. I've also been trying to eat outside of Induction, so I guess it's only natural that I won't lose consistently while I try to figure out what and how much of it I can eat.

The caffeine experiment has also hit a stall. I'm down to morning coffee (espresso, really) and lunch-time Diet Coke. Can't seem to cut out either one, though. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go cold turkey, but that triggers rebound headaches. Maybe I've cut back enough to alleviate the symptoms. Hopefully...

How is everyone else doing?

Laura

Re: New Year's Challenge, March 27 - April 2

Laura I'm up 4 pounds today and totally bummed over it. I know it's water retaining weight and I know it'll go away again soon but still! ARRGGHH! I've a list of complaints about this last week and a nasty sore throat, but I'll leave all that and say this week will be better. The kids 3 performances at theatre is over as well as the 2 cheering competitions this past weekend. We've been running like crazy and there's no water, they're putting in sewer connections and haven't told us when they will be shutting off water, so one day we have it and then we don't so I've been missing all my water. Guess I'm stocking up on several gallon jugs and just spending the evenings filling them when they turn the water back on! Sheesh! Gonna be like that until May something, so I've just got to plan better!

Kathy

I think I'm going to join you in this challenge too, if that's ok. I'll give my Jan 2nd weight, as I started on Dec. 30th... sorta... for real on Jan 1st.

250/214/200 by June 1st.

Re: New Year's Challenge, March 27 - April 2

I'm down a little over a pound this week. Kind of a bummer since I've been loosing 4 pounds a week for the past 3 weeks. But that is ok, I'll take it. I know I am not drinking enough water so I will have to work on that this week. Hang in there Kathy!!

AnniePie, it does slow down after that first big rush, but you're heading in the right direction! Keep it up.

Mary, you've had a lot on your plate lately. Glad to see you're back in action

Re: New Year's Challenge, March 27 - April 2

Thanks, Rick, yes the whooshie happened this morning, iykwim! lol

Laura, yup, ye olde lefte ankle still puffs up nice and uncomfy when I study. I"m keeping it up, and drinking tons of water. I have a new chicken broth that only has 70mg sodium per serving (still lots of good flavor), hoping that will make a difference.

Thanks guys, I know I was really down the last couple days with the water retention and lack of number-downage on the scale.

Re: New Year's Challenge, March 27 - April 2

I'm stepping back in, too.
I have been on/off for a while, hopefully ON stays from now. Gained and lost and it was 138 today. So starting from there again.

Moon, you're definitely not alone in re-losing weight. Wouldn't it be great if that were something we could just mark off our To-Do list after the first time?

Re: New Year's Challenge, March 27 - April 2

Soooo it's Friday!! How is everyone doing so far this week? I'm down almost 2 pounds but we will see come Monday. Monday will start week 4 of commitment for me. It's a big deal because I have never made it past day 3 without cheating in some way lol. My husband, who is low carbing with me has already fallen off, infact this morning he informed me that he will be grabbing Mc Donalds on the way to work and wanted to know if he should bring me back something?!? My jaw dropped... and I said no. I am a little upset that he is giving in but then, it has been three weeks. Hopefully it is only a once in a while thing. I'm more suprized that I said no! I opted for an egg, pepperoni, cheese omlet and it was good

OK anyway........happy Friday! Have a great weekend everybody and *stick* to those goals!!

Re: New Year's Challenge, March 27 - April 2

It is possible to eat at McDonalds and not cheat. They have salads and you can ask for the buns to be left off. For breakfast, they have eggs and sausage and cheese and bacon. If I don't feel like special ordering, I go with the bagel sandwiches, as they're easier to take apart.

But yeah, he probably cheated

Congrats on your 3 weeks. People progress at their own rate, so you can't expect your husband to always match your moods. As long as he supports you doing it, though, you don't have to divorce him It's definitely easier when you're both doing it (or alone), but it can be done even if you're the only one in the family. Stick with it, it's so worth it.

And on that note, I was 130.0 this morning. Five more to go before June and 2.5 to go to my long term maintenance goal. (I always bounce back up a couple of pounds within a few months, so I'm planning to go a few pounds past what I really want)

lol, and I just realized it's April Fools Day. Going to have to hide out from the bf so he doesn't play any tricks on me!

Re: New Year's Challenge, March 27 - April 2

Down another lb to 213 this morning. This is definitely the lowest I've been at since I got out of the Air Force 10 years ago. I weighed in at 211 on my last day of service, in August of '96. So, I'm pretty happy with where I'm at right now. I still have a good deal to get rid of before I'll be satisfied, but this WOL has been great for me. So, I don't know if I'll make that 200 lb goal for June, but I'll be working hard on it!
