Need to find my Curves Book

Well I've done Atkins for awhile then stopped...had good weight loss.

I've been going to Curves for about 1 month now and feel real good. I still do the LC WOE, but coming back and reading on here today, I really should do the Curves WOE....Phase 1 is just so close to Induction, but it seems that there are more choices. I do miss fruit. Not the taters or rice or bread, but the fruit.

So I need to dig out my Curves Book....and plan a diet. In the meantime...anyone interested in posting some of their phase 1 menus?

Hugs
Robin

Re: Need to find my Curves Book

I don't know anything about Curves, but there is one just a couple of blocks from my home! You say you like the work out? I was wondering though, they say work out 3 times a week for 30 minutes. What if you wanted to work out for an hour, do they let you? What if you wanted to go 5 times a week, do they allow that?

Robin,

The Curves diet has changed ALOT! The new Curves diet (after 5 years and 5 million in research) is a very sensible way of eating. I think you may be pleasantly surprised.

Do they offer the Weight Loss Program at your Curves? If so, ask them about it. If not, see if you can get your hands on the new Member guide. It is a dark dark purple book. AND........a GREAT book!

I have been working with the weight loss program with many woman in our studio and we are having fantastic results.

So Bren, you could answer my question. Does Curves allow you to work out longer and/or more often if you want to? Or are you limited to 30 minutes three times a week? Not that I could handle any more, I'm just wondering how it works since it seems to be very structured. I've been debating joining for what like a year now? LOL

Re: Need to find my Curves Book

opps! Sorry Moggy!

You can work out as many times a week as you want! Three times a week is based on the fact that after an intense work out your muscles need a full 48 hours to recover. BUT, there is no problem with going more then three days as the days you go "back to back" you still get a great work out just not as intense on the strength training. I have girls that go 6 days a week and man they are in GREAT shape.

Re: Need to find my Curves Book

I've been going 3 times a week. I've been finding that I need that day recovery, but I can feel everything toning up. I like it, the women are so nice there and I feel like we are all sisters with the same thing in common.

I thought that I would step up to more than 3 times a week after dropping around 30 lbs or so. And the best thing...is that it costs about $1.00 per day and I pay monthly.

Bren,
I'll ask about the new book. The book I have is light purple or pink. And its about 1 year old. I got it free when I joined last year.

Hugs

Re: Need to find my Curves Book

Thank you Bren and MrsLee!

I am definatley not in any shape to be able to handle more than the minimum, I was really just wondering because if you stayed a memeber for very long I would think that those 3 short workouts would eventually not be enough of a challenge!

Re: Need to find my Curves Book

Moggy.......... it is rather interesting cause you can always up your reps and your range, so you can always "challenge" yourself to work the circuit harder. AND........ the stronger you get the more resistance you give yourself!

Robin, YES..... I highly reccommend the new diet plan. I LOVE IT! Any questions let me know!!

Re: Need to find my Curves Book

That's cool Bren, you can tell I haven't been to a gym in quite some time.

I hope you guys have some chatter here about the diet! I'd love to hear more!
