how honest on the sig weight?
I have tried to be honest with my sig wt ..but have to say I am more likely to put down when I loose then when I gain...I have kind of given myself the one week rule ...if I am up a couple of lbs and it is off by Friday I do not change my sig...but if it stays up past a week then I do..does that sound ok?...if my wt is under my goal even for a second I change the sig!....I have a strong bias here....
are you guys totaly honest on your sig wts? (right now I am actually 118lbs )

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
No, I'm not totally honest. I list my weights as I made it through the plan and on to goal to show folks that it can be done. However, maintaining weight is another story and my weight fluctuates weekly and I don't have the time to keep it updated.
I'm currently at 185. |

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
Saddly, I am not totally honest with my weight either. I weigh every day, but I only change my sig weight once per week, unless I am down, then I change it then. I am trying to keep track of other things on my sig. like the days I donot cheat. I thought I was alone on this one. LOL

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
I have been bouncing around from 228.5 and 225.5 for weeks now and my siggi reads 227 pounds. I have gained a time or two and not reflected it in my siggi. Most times I am able to get back on plan and lose the couple of pounds I had gained. I figure, why go through the trouble of changing it in my siggi.

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
I weigh in every Tuesday and re-configure my Sig then. Guess I feel it is best to honest about the ups and the downs... that is life, ain't it! I wish their were an Atkins Fairy that would grant the wish of never having to deal with this again (or any further), but there isn't!!

Mine is accurate as of today! I hadn't gotten around to adding one 'till now. Will update it weekly.

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
I don't feel compelled to make it exact because weight always flucuates. When I first joined here when it opened my weight was 174 and as of this morning I am down to 171.8 lbs so I updated my sigline. Its also the first time I have been here in a couple of weeks, just been to busy with life and kids. lol I really only plan to update it when I have had a significant loss and I have maintained that lost for a couple of weeks so that I know its not a flucuating kind of thing.

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
I used to change mine when losing, if i lost i would post, if i gained a pound on weigh in day i would leave it at the existing then weigh myself a couple of days later cuase it was usually water weight.
Once in maintenance i never really bothered to change it when i had reached goal, because i had always managed to lose the 3-5 lbs that i had gained over the weekends etc. however...once that 5 lbs was on a for a month and not moving..i started changing my signature.

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
I took my weight off my siggy because I had a lower weight on there that I was at and can't seem to get back to so it would really annoy me to see that lower weight like it was teasing me!!!

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
I used to change my sig weight once a week (on another board) but it became such an obsession for me to weigh myself! What I did notice was that if I posted a loss, I was compelled to cheat because I had LOST weight...when I gained, I was compelled to cheat simply because I felt sorry for myself. It was a never-ending circle of BS and it had to stop.
Since May (when I moved) I have not weighed myself ONCE. My H weighs himself at my parent's house when we visit. LOL... I have noticed that I am far more dedicated to this WOE as a LIFESTYLE now because I don't feel like it's some kind of contest. I used to tweak my diet every time the scale registered no loss. I don't do that any longer. I put my faith in the system and hope that it'll work for me. I have all the signs of ketosis and my clothes are looser so I know that everything is going well.... |

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
For one, I try to keep it accurate. I'm proud to have my weight loss posted in my siggy and it serves as a motivator for me to lose even more. I won't be taking mine off.

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
I have never recorded up fluctuations in my siggy. Fluctuations are normal anyway. I fluctuate between 131 and 135. I always did fluctuate during my whole journey and my siggy always reflected my low. As long as it kept going down month after month, didn't matter to me. As long as I don't go above 135 (preferrably 133) then I am cool.
But I DO know of some folk that are TWENTY POUNDS above their siggy stats... (don't laugh Betty) -that's a little strange but whatever floats your boat.

Re: how honest on the sig weight?
I used to post in my sig, when I was going through the phases and losing the weight. Since I reached goal, I have not changed mine because as others have said it fluctuates. If however the few pounds up would stay for long, I would post it. Right now I don't have my pics in my sig because Dawn is a little busy right now and can't help me.
