Hi Everybody

Hi everybody:

It's been a long time since I've been on the low carb bulletin board let alone on a such a plan. I've decided this year is going to be the year to lose weight and decided to give South Beach a try. Wish me luck.

Hi Bonnie!!!!

I'm just starting back too..... I'm following the Curves weightloss plan because it has worked for me in the past. South Beach is a great diet too... good luck with it and I look forward to watching your progress.

Thanks Mary. I lost 10 pounds last week but don't think I'm doing as good this week. It is hard to tel which plan to follow and I've been on most I think throughout my life. I was on Atkins before and lost 100 pounds (back in the 70s.) but put it back on plus. I'm tired of my own excuses for not doing this but couldn't decide if I wanted to go atkins again or weight watchers. WW I also lost weight on but once again, put it back on and I was younger. I looked over South Beach and decided it was a little bit like a compromise between the two (I had the OLD Atkins which didn't allow all the veggies) and it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

I even managed to get rid of all of my starches (bread, flour, rice, pasta) by giving it to my ex who is out of work. I also am giving him some of my meat which I noticed has sugar in it as well as spices. They get tricky with putting sugar in the spices.

I actually find myself drinking more water these days and THAT's a shock!

How is everybody else doing?

10 pounds is awesome Bonnie!!!!!!! It will slow down now and should lose about 2 pounds a week. South Beach is a great diet.... I tried it a couple of times but could never stick to it, I think because it does allow more starches and made my body crave them and that made me fall off and go nuts on a loaf of bread. LOL

That was nice of you to give your unwanted food to your ex. I'm sure he appreciated it.

Yes, you have to read those labels because they like to trip us up! LOL

It has been slow around here but I'm always here.... I'll start checking in more often now that I know someone else is here.
