At what amount had you lost before people started making comments?

For me, it was about 30 lbs, but a few noticed after 15 or so (lol, well, I told them I was dieting, so it may have been a sympathy notice ). After 45lbs, I actually bought new clothes and *everybody* noticed. The security guard at the crosswalk even said something the first day I wore a 6 to work.

Two of the funniest comments I heard (in retrospect) were "I thought you might be sick, so I didn't want to say anything" and "Don't report me to HR, but you're looking great!"

Mine is closer to 100 pounds lost, but only because I always wore incredibly baggy clothes. I had to finally chuck the 3-4X pants and shirts and then people were like, "OMG!!!"

I've lost 42.5 so far. No notice yet. So I'll come back and vote when there's notice!

for the people that didn't know that i was losing weight, NO ONE commented until 50 pounds were gone.
I even wore smaller clothes and nuttin!! I was anxious and finally a lady at the grocery store told me how nice I was looking. Before my weight loss this lady wouldn't even give me the time of day.
My DH kept telling me that I was the talk of the town(about me weightloss) before anyone would tell me. I really thought he was just saying that because I wanted others to notice. But later, other people told me they thought I was losing, but didn't know how I would take it, if they complimented me. I said, Bring it on!!!



So... Pam they are probably noticing your loss, but won't say anything until it is so obvious that they can't deny it. Hang in there, it will happen. OH how sweet it is!!

Wow, I just can't imagine. I mean, I see people post pictures all the time, and the differences are just amazing. lol, I can't see people missing that! If they're truly not noticing, post your locations so that I don't ever drive around there!

I had a couple of people notice at around 15 lbs, but a lot of people started making comments somewhere between 20-25 lbs.

I agree with Laura, I'm sure people are noticing/have noticed your losses but just haven't said anything.

Alot of times, people are reluctant to say anything because they're afraid .. or jealous ..

For me, I'm so small-boned that 15 pounds made alot of difference so I got noticed pretty quick .. they noticed, they just didn't say a whole lot until I hit 25 pounds.

Again, from your pictures you can definitely see the difference. Of course, it's easier when you have two pics side by side to notice it. But, you've done well and it certainly shows. I know I couldn't do what you're doing, but I applaud you for sticking with it.

very good question, I was wondering about that myself,
I like Cleo wear baggy clothes so it will be way longer before anyone knows, but looking at pictures, it seems to be the bigger you are the slower people notice

Sandi, you're probably right. The baggy clothes make it even harder to tell, but I can certainly understand the wearing of said baggy clothes!

I went through my closet last wekend and got rid of stuff too big to wear. Wore normal-fitting clothes this week to school, and my good friend came up to me and started exclaiming.

I didn't cheat! lol

Isn't it great getting rid of clothes that are too big instead of too small? It's great that your friends are noticing. And that should help with the motivation

I'll tell you, since I'm one of those who sometimes don't believe compliments poeple give me -- going through the closet and seeing how much I own that is TOO BIG was a big boost to my motivation, but even bigger was when I posted my two pictures side-by-side, and EVEN *I* could see the difference! That was pretty cool.

Ran to school today, extra trip for errands, wearing just jeans and a t-shirt (yay spring!). I was in the library, and one of my friends came up to me, noticed me and gasped "OMG! Sarah, you've lost so much weight!!" She asked how much I'd lost, then look around us (we were, after all, in the library) and stage whispered it. When I told her, she started clapping and jumping up and down and giving me tons of compliments! lol It was so funny, I forgot about being embarrassed! lol

And it also felt really good.

Sandi, I feel your pain. I still don't see it , when I look in the mirror, only when I compare old and recent pictures. But it's nice to feel it in the clothes. Have you tried taking a current pic of yourself, anc comparing it to an old one?
