Re: 10 Exercise Myths EXPOSED

Yeh, I loved it!! Especially the part about never being too old to start! I've been avoiding exercise my whole life, but without it I'll never get where I want to be. I was sooo motivated after reading those tips, that I dusted off the exercise bench and will attack it for a few minutes before I go to bed...gotta start someplace, right?

Your pictures are fabulous...you are inspiring!
Ursula

Excellent post, Sarah!!!

I agree, umscats! I sometimes think, "What's the point" but that article makes a body think, doesn't it! How did the workout go?

Thumbs up Re: 10 Exercise Myths EXPOSED

The workout was good. I did it again last night. 2 nights in a row, must be a record for me, lol. I did 2 reps of 10 for each area, mostly arms. I did legs too, but have a real bad knee so those were killers, but I did them anyway. I got my bike tuned-up after not using it for 4 years, and went for ride last week, but the next day my knee felt "squishy", so I haven't done it again... yet... but I will. I did walk on Monday, went to an outdoor art show (I live in south FL) and walked around for 2-3 hours. So I guess little by little I will get myself going.

I work at home, so sit in front of a computer all day. Some days, when I'm really busy, it's too hard to find time to do anything, but I did order a couple of exercise videos which haven't arrived yet. I've always been a "slug", so exercising really takes a ton of motivation.

Re: 10 Exercise Myths EXPOSED

Ursula, I sit a lot, too, being a law student and with the studying. I started setting a timer for every 20 min., to drink my water.

Suddenly it occurred to me to set it for every 45-60 min (depending on what I'm working on), and I'd get up and go to the bathroom and then walk around doing knee raises for 5-10 minutes. It helps get the blood flowing, and is good on the brains to take a break.

You could also try that, and on top of the workouts, wow, look out!

Re: 10 Exercise Myths EXPOSED

Thanks for the idea, it's a great one. I have a dusty treadmill next to my bed, maybe I should dust that off too, set the incline to it's highest and use that during a 10 minute work break. That's certainly more reasonable for me than trying to get on it for an hour at a time, most days.

Thanks!!
Ursula
